Jamal McClendon, MD, is a neurosurgeon at Barrow Neurological Institute at Phoenix Children's Hospital. He was previously a neurosurgery fellow in the program. In addition to his role with the Pediatric Neurosurgery Program, Dr. McClendon also works at Mayo Clinic Arizona as a senior associate consult in the neurosurgery department.
Dr. McClendon received his medical degree from Wayne State University School of Medicine in 2007. He completed his surgical internship at McGaw Medical Center at Northwestern University's Feinberg School of Medicine. In 2013, he completed a intraresidency fellowship in complex and reconstructive spine surgery with the Northwestern University McGaw Medical Center and Lurie Children's Hospital. A year later, he completed a neurosurgical residency at McGaw Medical Center at Northwestern University's Feinberg School of Medicine, and in 2015, he completed a fellowship in spinal surgery with Washington University in St. Louis.
