He has been a Board-Certified Fellow of the American Academy of Pediatrics since 2002. After completing a rotating internship at Good Samaritan Hospital in Phoenix in 1999, he completed his pediatric residency at the combined Phoenix Children's Hospital/Maricopa Medical Center in 2002. He went to medical school at the University of North Texas Health Science Center in Fort Worth, TX. He then spent 3 years living in Honduras, Central America before deciding to go to medical school.

Nearly an Arizona native, his family moved to Mesa when he was in second grade and he has always felt at home in the desert. In his free time he enjoys hiking, spending time with his wife, and working with youth in volunteer capacities.
